Current
Conditions and Updates
|
- Winter has come
to the Medicine Bows! State Highway 130 is closed to vehicles where
it crosses the Snowy Range west of Laramie, but this stretch is open
to snowmobiling (click
here for a picture).
- State Highway
230, which crosses the mountain range southwest of Laramie, is open
all year and provides access to many snowmobiling areas.
- State Highway
70, west of Encampment, is also closed across Battle Pass, but you can
drive far enough to reach the cross-country ski trails.
Between the
Sierra Madre and Medicine Bow Mountains, you'll find several cross-country
ski networks (all included in the book), a downhill
ski area, and lots of deep snow for snowshoeing.
