Updates

**The Second Edition of Hiking Wyoming's Medicine Bow National Forest is now available. This edition includes all of the corrections shown below as well as 15 new trails, four pages of color photographs, and 64 pages of new content.**

It's official... the Forest Service office in Encampment is closing and the facility is being sold. To get info on the west side of the MedBow, you can stop by the visitor's center at Brush Creek. If you need information for the Sierra Madre, you'll need to go to the FS office in Saratoga.

The section below includes updates to the first edition of Hiking Wyoming's Medicine Bow National Forest.

Page 25-27: The Forest Service has constructed a new trailhead near the Summit Visitor's Center along Interstate 80 at Exit 323. The reach the trailhead, travel past the visitor center and watch for the trailhead a quarter mile further on FR 705. The trailhead provides access to the Happy Jack trail network.

Also, there is a new snowshoe trail in the Happy Jack area. The trail is located on the southwest edge of the trail area. It intersects the Meadow Loop (at the north end) and ends on the Summit Trail (at the south end).

: The short description for the Campbell Lake trail incorrectly states that the lake is located in a roadless area east of Dipper Lake. This roadless area is actually west of Dipper Lake.

Page 107: The map of the Huston Park Wilderness has two roads marked as FR 700. The eastern-most road is actually FR 550. In addition, the short road leading to the Green Mountain Trailhead should be marked as FS 406. Special thanks to Sue at the Forest Service office in Saratoga for finding these mis-marked roads.
